Ukuleles For Peace - Day Twenty Four

We're right in the middle of the busiest week yet! So much news, so many accomplishments...first of all, it's Hanukkah, and this morning the kids in Aleph (5-6 years old) performed 'Row Row Row Your Boat' to great applause at the finale of the school Hanukkah party...unfortunately I was concentrating so hard on shooting a good video of them that I didn't get any still photos for the blog. Second, the older kids performed at a senior's home yesterday morning for another holiday celebration (see the photo above), and there was even a little dancing in the crowd!

Third, and most incredibly, we've had our final recording session tonight...this is a momentous occasion for all of us, but especially for the kids, who have worked so hard. I've been involved in a lot of recording sessions over the years, and these kids are better behaved than many adult musicians I've been around (you know who you are). Having said that, despite their maturity they occasionally like to blow off steam - check out this all-kazoo attempt at "We Will Rock You" (a traditional Hanukkah song, I believe). Off to another UFP gig tomorrow - this is the hardest working children's ukulele orchestra ever!
